Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team.

Accounts Payable Specialist (Downtown Duluth – Temp, PT or FT)

Location: Duluth, MN – Headquarters (Downtown, On-Site)

Start Date: Ideally July 7, 2025
Duration: 9-Month Contract (with Potential for Extension)
Schedule: Open to Full-Time or Part-Time
Type: Temporary

This role is essential to ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments while upholding the integrity of our financial records. What You’ll Do:

• Own the invoice process: enter, upload, and ensure every detail is on point
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies
• Keep vendors happy by ensuring timely payments and friendly communication
• Monitor account activity to ensure payments are up to date
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Work with a supportive and driven team that values precision and collaboration

Who You Are:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• You bring 1–3 years of AP or general accounting experience and love seeing everything balance
• Detail-oriented with a knack for organization
• Tech-savvy—Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel)  and accounting tools like QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle or NetSuite
• A strong communicator who builds great relationships with vendors and teammates
• Someone who thrives both independently and in a team setting

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience with ERP systems
• Familiarity with 3-way matching and purchase order processed
• A working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles

Lake Superior Consulting offers a competitive compensation package. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated salary/hourly range for this position is $22 – $25 per hour. July 7th start date. Open to either part-time or full-time. 9 month contract with possibility of extension.
