Accounts Payable Specialist (Downtown Duluth – Temp, PT or FT)

Location: Duluth, MN – Headquarters (Downtown, On-Site)

Duration: 6-9 Month Contract (with Potential for Extension)

What You’ll Do:

Own the invoice process: enter, upload, and ensure every detail is on point
Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies
Keep vendors happy by ensuring timely payments and friendly communication
Monitor account activity to ensure payments are up to date
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Work with a supportive and driven team that values precision and collaboration

Who You Are:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
You bring 1–3 years of AP or general accounting experience and love seeing everything balance
Detail-oriented with a knack for organization
Tech-savvy—Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel) and accounting tools like QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle or NetSuite
A strong communicator who builds great relationships with vendors and teammates
Someone who thrives both independently and in a team setting

Bonus Points If You Have:

Experience with ERP systems
Familiarity with 3-way matching and purchase order processed
A working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles

Lake Superior Consulting offers a competitive compensation package. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated salary/hourly range for this position is $23 – $29 hour
