Equipment and Fleet Specialist

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Fleet and Equipment Specialist to join our team and play a critical role in managing our equipment, fleet, and materials across multiple offices and project sites.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and passionate about keeping operations running smoothly. You’ll ensure our teams have the right tools, vehicles, and materials—ready, safe, and compliant—so they can deliver for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Management
- Learn and manage LSC’s Tool watch asset management system, including training staff on its use.
- Take the lead on equipment calibrations, certifications, and maintenance tracking.
- Monitor equipment utilization across all U.S. sites and support allocation across business groups.
- Support check-in/check-out processes, including loading and unloading equipment for field staff.
- Track repairs, identify recurring equipment issues, and ensure operational readiness.
- Manage shipping and receiving of company equipment and consumables.
Fleet Support
- Assist with check-in/check-out of vehicles, outfitting trucks with required accessories, and restocking supplies.
- Transport vehicles and trailers for maintenance and project staging.
- Help maintain fleet cleanliness and readiness (washing, vacuuming, safety compliance).
- Support the Fleet Management Group with AIRIQ system data entry, reporting, and event notifications.
Shop & Materials
- Maintain organized, safe, and clean shop facilities across LSC locations.
- Support daily upkeep including sweeping, organizing tools, and ensuring safe winter access.
- Manage incoming/outgoing project materials, including tagging, tracking, and storage for project readiness.
- Track spare/extra materials for reuse and support scrap/waste wire processing.
Administrative Support
- Recommend and implement process improvements to support company growth.
- Prepare OPEX and CAPEX requests related to fleet and equipment.
- Teach and apply LEAN methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support PPE tracking and supply for field teams.
What We’re Looking For
Education:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education is preferred.
Experience:

- Previous experience in equipment, asset, or fleet management preferred.
- Mechanically inclined with ability to support equipment/vehicle upkeep.

- Self-motivated, organized, and proactive.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple teams.

Lake Superior Consulting offers a competitive compensation package. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated salary/hourly range for this position is $20-29 per year/hour.
