Project Scheduler

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an experienced Scheduler to join our team!

We are seeking an experienced P6 Scheduler to support complex engineering and construction projects. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing Critical Path Method schedules using Primavera P6 and related tools.

 

The level will be determined based on experience, leadership capability, and technical depth. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level scheduler ready to grow, or a senior scheduling professional looking to lead and influence project performance at a strategic level.

Our projects support large-scale engineering, procurement, maintenance, pipeline, and construction initiatives from project inception through successful delivery.

 

What You Will Do

Core Responsibilities for Both Levels

  • Develop, maintain, and update CPM schedules using Primavera P6
  • Build resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules
  • Develop Work Breakdown Structures and activity coding
  • Track progress, milestones, and percent complete performance
  • Perform schedule updates and communicate status to project teams
  • Support resource forecasting and leveling efforts
  • Facilitate schedule meetings with project teams and stakeholders
  • Prepare schedule reports including histograms, curves, and executive summaries

 

Additional Responsibilities for Scheduler III

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Critical Path Methodology
  • Lead development and oversight of complex and integrated master schedules
  • Establish and maintain schedule baselines and perform advanced analysis
  • Lead forecasting efforts including Estimate To Complete and Estimate At Complete
  • Conduct detailed schedule risk assessments and recovery planning
  • Present schedule insights, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership and clients
  • Mentor and develop other schedulers
  • Support earned value management and perform DCMA 14-point schedule assessments

 

What You Bring

Scheduler II

  • 3 to 6 years of scheduling experience in engineering or construction environments
  • Experience using Primavera P6 PPM or EPPM
  • Working knowledge of CPM principles
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and Excel reporting
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; HS Diploma required

Scheduler III

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field and 3 or more years of advanced schedule management experience
    OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading schedule development for complex projects
  • Advanced Primavera P6 expertise including resource and cost loading
  • Experience with earned value management and schedule forecasting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work independently and influence project stakeholders

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering, Procurement, Construction project experience
  • PSP, PMP, PMI-SP, or related certification or willingness to pursue
  • Experience with Primavera Unifier
  • Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI
  • Building Information Modeling experience
  • Knowledge of DCMA 14-point assessment standards

 

Work Environment and Travel

  • Office-based with field and client site exposure
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Ability to work extended hours when project demands require

Lake Superior Consulting offers a competitive compensation package. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated salary/hourly range for this position is $70,000-$133,500 per year.
