Mid-Level Engineer

Lake Superior Consulting has partnered with Centra Pipelines to source a Mid-Level Engineer in Emo/Fort Frances/Thunder Bay (Ontario, CAN), or Winnipeg (Manitoba, CAN). This is a regular, full-time position and will report to the Director of Pipeline Operations at Centra Pipelines. This individual will be employed by Centra Pipelines.
 

As the mid-level Engineer, you will assume overall responsibility for the engineering requirements of the pipeline integrity group. 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare drawings and reports, calculate pipe designs, assist with engineering documents, attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Assist with project proposals and cost estimates.
  • Project Management and participation in the construction, maintenance, and integrity requirements; bid development, procurement, and completion reports.
  • Assist in the development of short- and long-term budgets for Capital and Capital Maintenance projects.
  • Oversight of ESRI GIS system including data, graphical representation, upgrades, and other items as requested.
  • Oversight of Design Standards, drawing generation, review process, approval, and drawing revision archives.
  • Generate procedures, Engineering standards and Engineering Specifications as needed.
  • Manage In Line Inspection data, non-destructive examination results, and API 1163 compliance including reinspection intervals.  Work with Integrity Team for inspection schedules.
  • Manage legal surveys as needed.
  • Solicit proposals for products and services required for projects.
  • Provide technical/engineering support for field operations.
  • Management, implementation, and auditing of the company’s Integrity Program.
  • Periodic assessment/reporting of integrity maintenance and mitigation activities.
  • U.S. and CAN. regulatory and code compliance re: operations, maintenance, construction
  • U.S. and CAN regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and manage changes in regulatory requirements and deal with regulatory audits and their findings
  • Communications with employees, stakeholders, and senior leadership team.
  • Assists in evaluating present practices and implement processes, concepts, training and tools to prevent, detect and correct human errors and/or process or procedure deficiencies that may adversely impact the safe, reliable operation of the gas transmission system.
  • Required to be able to work in Canada and the United States on an as needed basis.

 

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering preferred with 5+ years’ experience in engineering and construction in the pipeline industry.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Peng or P.E.  licensure is preferred or the ability to obtain a Peng or P.E.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills; Project management skills; Work independently; Ability to prioritize and handle multiple task and projects concurrently.
